About Me

Music has always been my passion. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to pursue a career in music. My parents enrolled me in baby music classes, church choir, piano lessons, and later on, French Horn lessons. They empowered me to be in any ensemble and program I was able to get into, and have been my biggest supporters. In high school, I played in many bands, orchestras, and choirs, such as Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, and was even the Head Drum Major for the Brookfield Central High School Marching Band. I studied under Kathryn Krubsack and Darcy Hamlin.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance-French Horn from DePaul University in Chicago, as well as a Minor in Business. I was on a merit scholarship and graduated Cum Laude. I had the honor of studying with James Smelser, Oto Carillo, and Neil Kimel during my time there.

After earning my Bachelor’s degree, I was accepted into the Graduate Music Performance program at the University of Miami as a Henry Mancini Orchestra Fellow and Frost Band of the Hour-Athletic Band Teaching Assistant. I studied under Richard Todd. After a year in the instrumental program, I switched from Music Performance to Masters of Music Education plus Certification. The main reason I switched was to gain formal training in teaching. I had an amazing two years working for the Frost Band of the Hour as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, and learned so much under directors Dr. Craig McKenzie, Professor Jay C. Rees, Professor Doug McCullough, and Dr. Sheldon McLean. I am currently completing my Teaching Internship at Miami Arts Studio under Erich and Steve Rivero.

Throughout my musical journey, I had incredibly knowledgeable and supportive teachers who taught me both musical and life lessons. As an educator, I embrace the different learning needs of each student, and strive to also teach both musical and practical lessons through my instruction.
